Johnny
Not at Teddy's anymore on Friday nights?
Are you anywhere else (not on Saturday nights) where we might visit some time?
Hope all is well with you and Linda
Are you still broadcasting a radio show? If so what time and what station?

Johnny my good friend for a number of years will be missed on the radio keeping the great music rememberd. That was the music that started it all. The radio shows and artists of today must always remember that the artists of the 50's are the true pioneers of R&B;and Rock and Roll. I will always perform that music and keep the memories alive. I am planning to have a special event in honor of oldies but goodies and get the message across to the people of all ages that this music will live on and on... Let's do it Johnny and show the world where it all started....
By joe at Saturday 06 February 2010

I moved from Bergen County, NJ (where I listened to Johnny Z's show Sunday nights on WFAS) to Monmouth County, NJ almost a year ago, but was able to listen to the show online since then. I hadn't listened to the show in a while and thought I'd turn it on tonight and they're playing the usual mix you hear on every other radio station. What happened? Did they take your show off the lineup? WJRZ did that last May/June when they used to air the Saturday Night Oldies show (I think it was 100.1 here in Monmouth). I'm 34 years old and grew up on WCBS-FM listening to Bobby Jay and Don K. Reed. If this move is permanent, then it only makes radio even more difficult to listen to now.

Hi,
Tuned in to WFAS again only NOT to find find the Rock and Roll Revival Show. What happened? I noticed that Johnny Z is not on the lineup for the DJs on WFAS's air personalities. I have been a loyal listener for years.
If WFAS canceled the show they will be sending a clear message that they have no use for the over 50 demographics. In which case, I will never listen to WFAS (anytime) ever again:

Hi Johnny:
Just a note to say what a great time we had at Michael's last nite... We were all happy to be there and also so happy that you had a great crowd.
Also, we will do all that we can to keep the Rock and Rock Revival Show on the air on Sunday nites... We treasure the doo wop as so many other people do.
Thank you always Johnny for bringing the Castletones back to life after so many years and always mentioning myself and my husband Bobby on the radio.... You are truly a great friend and great DJ....You will be back Johnny- because you are so needed on the radio playing all of the great songs from the past.....
Hope to see you soon....

Dear Johnny,
You're the best !
Thank you for keeping "real" Doo Wop alive, from the days at the Brooklyn Fox, the Brooklyn Paramount, Loew's State and Jocko Henderson, Alan Freed and Murray the K, until now. Rock 'n' Roll, and especially Dop Wop, really is here to stay.
I look forward to Sunday nights @ 7pm and I enjoyed your show at Joe & Joe's in Pearl River, New York; thank you for the Sunday night mention following the show.
Is anyone out there going to Lead East in September? Perhaps we can arrange a "Johnny Z" contingent...
Warm regards to you and Linda,
"Bergen County Barbara" Ross

Johnny Z,
I goota tell you that your Sunday night radio show on WFAS-FM is superb. I'm originally from Brooklyn, NY but I live in Westchester County the last 25 years. I'm a liitle young for Doo-Wop, but my older brothers use to listen to WCBS-FM years past. They really hooked me on the oldies music. Thanks for all the memories and great music. We're always listening.
